Parents to pay less for German Long-term Care insurance

As of 1st July 2023 German legislation stipulates that parents with several children are to contribute less towards mandatory long-term care insurance!

Employees with 2 or more children are granted a reduction of 0.25% per child as of the second and up to the fith child and the reduction applies until the end of the month in which the child reaches 25 years of age.

The following contribution rates apply as of 01.07.2023:

Proof required!
In order for the correct rate of contribution to be taken into account, the employee is legally required to provide proof in an appropriate form to payroll accounting. This can be in form of a birth certificate, registration document or Child Allowance Notice.
